Action continues in Cumberland County Cup

The matches continue as there were another round of fixtures in the Cumberland County League on Wednesday evening.

In the Premier Division, Maryport Athletic went top of the league after a 3-1 victory against Whitehaven Miners Social.

Ciaran Laverty got a hat trick for Maryport to take them two points clear of second place Cockermouth, with the two clubs meeting in the title decider in the final league game of the season on May 3. Nathan Walkingshaw netted for Miners.

Elsewhere on Wednesday, Brad Fearns and Luke Mason both scored for Keswick to secure a 2-2 draw against Wigton Harriers in the Ken Glover Memorial Cup. Harvey Harrison was Wigton goal scorer with an own goal also helping them out.

In the League Cup 1, Jordan Priestley and Ethan Magee both found the back of the net for Mirehouse to give them a 2-0 victory against Cleator Moor Celtic Reserves.

Aspatria edged past Dearham United with a 2-1 win with goals coming from Andrew Trestianu and Dan Pearson with Alfie Green netted for Dearham.

Bransty Rangers against Workington Juniors ended in a draw 2-2 draw with Harry Watson and Tyler Harrell getting Workington’s goals and Ce-Jay Irvine and Spike Canavan scoring for Bransty.
