
Midweek action continues in the Cumberland County League.
On Wednesday, there were two matches played with Whitehaven Miners Social getting themselves a 2-1 victory against Cockermouth.
Nathan Walkingshaw and Alex Parr were both on the score sheet for Miners in this Ken Glover Memorial Cup group stage tie with Cockermouth’s goal coming from Oscar Pickering.
Elsewhere, Windscale Reserves hosted Mirehouse as both teams played their final league match of the season with both clubs taking a point each after a 2-2 draw.
Joseph Dillon and Rhys Barnett both scored for Mirehouse with Windscale goals being provided by Dylan Mcalone and Jordan Bowness.
On Tuesday, Wigton Harriers and Maryport Athletic met in the Ken Glover Memorial Cup group stage with the match ending 0-0.
The semi-final draw has been made for the Ken Glover Memorial Cup with Maryport Athletic hosting Whitehaven Miners Social and Keswick travel to Unisun Athletic.
The semi-final draw for the League Cup 2 has also been drawn which sees Whitehaven AFC Reserves play Unisun Athletic Youth Development and Windscale Reserves take on Cockermouth Reserves.
Tomorrow, Friday April 25, Workington Town’s Fibrus Community Stadium will host the Benevolent Cup Final where holders and Premier Division title chasers Maryport Athletic meet Workington Juniors, who have already won the Division One title this campaign.
Kick off is 7pm with Admission £3 and food and drink will be available.
