Stargazers were blessed with clear skies in Crow Park near the shores of Derwentwater on Monday, during the Big Lighting Switch Off in Keswick.
Over 120 people at the park had the chance to see the night sky through large telescopes, thanks to the expertise of Chris and Jeremy from the Cockermouth Astronomical Society, and Friends of the Lake District.
Local residents, visitors and 60 Burnley College students with their tutors, saw the rings of Jupiter, the moons of Mars, the Beehive star cluster and many more stars and constellations.
Around 60 road and street lights were turned off for the night in the Lake Road, Hope Park and the Heads area.

Some local businesses also took part and switched off some, or all of their outside lights, including Booths supermarket.
The Annual Switch Off aims to raise awareness about the need not to waste valuable energy, reduce our carbon footprint, safeguard wildlife at night, whilst supporting our mental well-being and health from the benefits of enjoying dark skies.
Friends of the Lake District is leading, with other partners and supporters, a project to improve dark skies in Cumbria.
