There was major disruption on the West Coast Main Line yesterday morning for rail passengers.
A train hit an obstruction between Oxenholme and Penrith yesterday, Thursday May 8, and the line towards Penrith was blocked.
Trains were cancelled, and those already on the line are being sent backwards.
Trains were terminated at Preston.
No services were running north or south and replacement buses were organised.
