Whitehaven A start new season in style

Whitehaven A have set off in style this season with two 9-0 victories, their latest at Egremont last Tuesday.

Other results from May 6: Seascale 9 Seaton 0; Workington A 7 Cleator Moor 2; Vulcan Park 2 Maryport 7; Croft 0 Wigton 9; Harris Park A 7 Harris Park B 2; Whitehaven B 2 Workington B 7.

The league standings will be published next week.

West Cumbria Fours League

Even though they were missing some of their regular players, who were away on a club tour, last year’s champions, Workington A, continued their 100% start to this season’s campaign with their third successive 7-0 win last Friday at Maryport.

Fitz Park made it three wins out of three with a 5-2 win away against Whitehaven B. Vulcan Park are showing a big improvement this year compared to previous years and secured their second win of the season with a 5-2 away victory against Workington B. Whitehaven A won 4-3 at Seaton.

League standings (Games played and points): Workington A 3 – 21, Fitz Park 3 – 16, Cleator Moor 2 – 14, Whitehaven A 3 – 14, Vulcan Park 2 – 9, Workington B 3 – 4, Seaton 2 – 3, Whitehaven B 3 – 2, Maryport 3 – 1.
