People living on Carlisle’s Raffles estate are invited to help create a plan for its future.
Cumberland Council has created a draft plan to help the estate become a ‘vibrant community with opportunities for everyone’.
People are invited to an event next month to give their views and help shape the plan.
The plan looks at how Raffles could develop in five key areas:
- Community support and wellbeing;
- Safe streets and parks;
- Better public transport;
- Things for young people to do;
- Cleanliness, respect and pride
Councillor Justin McDermott, Cumberland Council’s executive member for public health and communities, said: “I encourage all residents to come together and attend this event to make a real difference to their community.
“The best ideas often come from local residents, and it’s important everyone gets their say.”
The event is on Wednesday June 4, from 4pm to 7pm at Newtown School.
People will be able to hear more about the draft plan, and give their input. There will be pizza and everyone is welcome.
Those who cannot get to this event will be able to attend others as the project progresses, the authority said.
