Workington Reds have revealed the first two summer signings by manager Darren Edmondson.
Will McGladdery and Tom Dawson emerged as key players for Barrow’s Holker Old Boys last season.
The pair helped the Stags reach the First Division play-offs in the North West Counties League.
Frontman Dawson emerged as Holker’s top scorer last season and was a handful to defenders throughout the season.
McGladdery, who came through the Blackpool Academy and has also played for Lancaster City, capped a great season by being voted Players’ Player of the Year at Rakesmoor Lane. He can operate in midfield or defence.
Edmondson said: “What we are trying to do is look for the correct skill set in potential new arrivals and if they have the basics we then have to see if they can perform at the higher level in a hostile environment and in front of bigger crowds etc.
“Will is technically a good midfielder. He is composed, a good athlete, has a good mentality and his profile fits all the requirements.
“Likewise, Tom is a good character, works hard for the team, has a good eye for goal, is a good technician in the area and has decent pace.
“There are plenty of players with those attributes who are unproven at our level but don’t get the opportunity. We will provide an opportunity and these two want to do well and progress and I’m excited for them.”
