Maryport go top to table in bowls league

Maryport took advantage of the fact that Workington B and Whitehaven A did not play their scheduled games last week and went to the top of the table with an 8-1 home win over Harris Park A.

Results of other games played on Tuesday June 17:  Whitehaven B 7 Seascale 2; Egremont 4 Cleator Moor 5; Vulcan Park 5 Seaton 4; Harris Park B 2 Croft 7.

League standings (Games played and points): Maryport 6-39, Workington B 5-35, Whitehaven A 6-34, Workington A 5-29, Harris Park A 6-26, Seascale 6-26, Wigton 5-25, Croft 6-24, Seaton 6-22, Harris Park B 6-21, Vulcan Park 6-21, Cleator Moor 5-19, Whitehaven B, Egremont 5-14.

West Cumbria Fours League

Only three games were played last Friday. League leaders Workington A stretched their lead at the top of the table to 12 points as they defeated their club’s B team 5-2 whilst Fitz Park lost at home 5-2 to Cleator Moor who, as a result, went to second in the table. Seaton won 7-0 at Vulcan Park.

League standings (Games played and points): Workington A  8-49, Cleator Moor 8-37, Fitz Park 8-35, Whitehaven A 7-32, Seaton 8-26, Maryport 8-22, Whitehaven B 7-15, Vulcan Park 9-15, Workington B 8-14.
