Enquiries are continuing into a workplace incident in West Cumbria which saw two people taken to hospital.

The Health and Safety Executive said it was continuing its enquiries into the incident, which happened on Inkerman Terrace in Whitehaven on Tuesday, June 10.

A teenager and a man in his 20s were injured.

A spokesman for the Health and Safety Executive said: “We are aware of the incident and are in the process of making enquiries.”

Cumbria police said they were called at around 3pm by the North West Ambulance Service.

They said the boy was taken to hospital with injuries described as not life threatening.

The man suffered minor injuries.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service said it was called at around 2.55pm and described it as an industrial incident.

The service added: “We had a doctor and paramedic on board our aircraft and they arrived on scene at 3.14pm.

“Our team worked alongside the North West Ambulance Service  to assess and treat two patients.

“One patient has been airlifted to hospital by our team and one patient has been taken to hospital by the North West Ambulance Service road crew.
