
Emergency services were called after a car towing a horsebox caught fire.
Copeland Police said they attended the incident yesterday, Saturday July 5, although did not reveal the location.
Copeland Police said: “Officers attended what would be every horse person’s nightmare – a vehicle catching fire whilst towing a horse trailer.
“We are more than delighted to say all were okay thanks to the quick thinking of the owners and fast deployment of Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service.”
It issued the following advice:
- Phone 999 immediately
- Remove horses from the vehicle & move to a place of safety
- Do not return to the vehicle ( no matter how many saddles you have on board)
- Stay a safe distance away
