A Kendal woman has been arrested following a protest in London on Saturday.
Gwen Harrison, 47, was among 27 people arrested following the action in Parliament Square.
Protestors sat by the square’s statue of Gandhi holding signs saying: “I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action”.
The Metropolitan Police said those arrested were being held on suspicion of offences under the Terrorism Act 2000 and had been taken into custody.
As of Saturday, the Palestine Action group is proscribed under the Terrorism Act. It means that being a member of it, or showing support for it is a criminal offence and could lead to time in prison.
All those arrested have been released on bail.
