A man was was jailed in April for 19 child sex crimes in Cumbria over a decade ago has had his sentence increased.
Jacob Corrie, now 31, pleaded guilty to nine counts of sexual activity with a child, eight counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and two counts of sexual communication with a child.
He was jailed at Carlisle Crown Court for six years and four months.
However, today, a judge ruled that the sentence was unduly lenient.
The sentence was referred by the Solicitor General to the Court of Appeal for review as being unduly lenient.
At today’s hearing, the Court of Appeal increased his total sentence to 10 years and four months.
Speaking after the appeal, Detective Constable Rebecca Lynch of Cumberland CID, said: “We welcome the revised sentence for Corrie, who committed numerous offences against his underage victims.
“Today’s outcome ensures he spends further time in prison out of our community for these serious offences.
“We continue to urge anyone who has been victim of a sexual offence to contact police so that our officers can investigate.
“You will be supported throughout our investigation which is tailored to an individual’s circumstances.”
