Drivers are warned of long delays in Penrith as traffic is at a standstill.
Cumbria Crack has been told there is nose-to-tail traffic in the town and on the A66 – and one regular commuter said it was worse than a normal Friday in the town.
It is not clear what has caused the delays, but it is thought that roadworks at Junction 40 of the M6 are contributing to the traffic jams on all major routes through Penrith towards the Skirsgill Interchange.
