A Carlisle shop was found to have a secret compartment, believed to be used to sell illegal vapes and tobacco, during an operation carried out by police.
Carlisle Police said its officers, Trading Standards officials and Immigration Enforcement visited several premises in the city yesterday, Wednesday July 30.
The force said: “One shop thought they could outfox the law with a false wall and secret compartment where they were passing the illegal tobacco and vapes through, but unfortunately no match for Carlisle Neighbourhood Policing Team and our colleagues from Trading Standards and Immigration.”
