Well done to the 332 people who took part in the Penrith parkrun this morning. Congratulations and a big well done to Helen Jackman who completed her 100th parkrun.
Kendal Calling has been in the fields for 20 years this weekend, we had some parkrunners who had left their cosy tents to join us this morning.
This included Michelle, Elliot and Richard. Michelle is an event director for Witton, Blackburn parkrun.
Michelle told me she normally doesn’t run but her team at Blackburn encouraged her to come and run the Penrith parkrun whilst she is in the area.
Elliot is from Oldham, Manchester. He has run a parkrun every weekend this year so didn’t want KC to get in his way.
Richard lives at Lockerbie and told me he has been to KC 8 times and has made the effort to come to Penrith parkrun 7 out of the 8 times he was there. He said that Penrith parkrun was his favourite local parkrun and that he got his PB here.
From Daventry I spoke to John, Debs and Daareck who are up visiting their son/brother Rien whose house overlooks the course.

John and Rien had already ran 15 miles before making their way down for Penrith parkrun as they are training for the Berlin Marathon in 6 weeks. Very impressive, good luck to them both. Daareck told us it was his 232nd parkrun and his 4th at Penrith.
Tourists to Penrith parkrun this morning came from far and wide including the Netherlands, Bradford, Lincolnshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Glasgow and Ipswich.
As well as Richard Mckennedy, Conor Mckennedy and Grainne Quinn who had come from Dublin, and Rebecca Ngam who beat every one by coming all the way from Australia.
Reminder: The Acorn Bank 10k is on Sunday September 14. It starts at 10am. Don’t forget to sign up if you haven’t already!
