
Emergency services were called out to help search for a missing person at a West Cumbrian harbour.
Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team said they were called yesterday, Thursday August 7, to Whitehaven Harbour, as part of the multi-agency search at around 8.50pm.
Also called was Workington RNLI, St Bees RNLI, West Cumbria Search & Rescue, Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team, Maryport Rescue and Cumbria police.
Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team said: “A short while into the search, the missing person was located safe and well by police inland.”
Helicopter support had been requested but was stood down before take off.
