Furness have it in their own hands to reclaim the Cumbria League’s Premier Division title.
Carlisle had dominated for three years before departing to join the Northern League.
Now Furness have established a lead in the table which they hope will be maintained until the last four games are completed.
They go into Saturday’s home game with second-bottom Wigton leading Keswick by eight points and Cockermouth by 12.
The big breakthrough result came last week when they won by eight wickets at Cockermouth.
Keswick, who face big crunch matches with Furness (away) and Cockermouth (home) to round off the season, travel to Cleator tomorrow and then host bottom side Egremont.
Cockermouth might feel their chance is gone through losing last week.
But they will look to get back to winning ways at Egremont tomorrow.
If Keswick beat Furness and then Cockermouth beat Keswick, the title might just end up at Sandair.
Other games tomorrow are: Millom v Workington; Whitehaven v Dalton.
