A minor road in north Cumbria will be closed for u to eight weeks so a bridge can be replaced.
Pow Wath Bridge, near Great Orton, currently has a 7.5-tonne weight restriction.
The work, due to start on Monday, will see the bridge, part of the U2057 which crosses Pow Beck, replaced with a precast concrete structure, removing the need for a weight limit.
The project is expected to take around eight weeks, and it will be completed by Friday October 10.
On August 18 and August 19, United Utilities will carry out preparatory work and from August 20 Metcalfe Plant Hire Ltd will undertake the main construction phase.
A full road closure will be in place and there will be no access for vehicles, pedestrians, or cyclists.
A diversion will be in place.
