Barrow has a new Post Office.
Roose lost its Post Office in June 2023 after the postmaster resigned but its new branch was officially opened yesterday at Yarlside Stores on Yarlside Road.
It was officially opened by Barrow mayor Fred Chatfield.
The postmaster Vinothkumar Muthukumar, known as Vino.
It is open Monday to Saturday 6am to 9pm and Sunday 7am to 9pm.
There is a Post Office counter alongside the retail counter. Similar products and services will still be available as before including everyday banking for cash and cheque deposits, cash withdrawals and balances.
Customers can send mail and do home shopping returns, pay bills and top up utilities, Euros are available on demand and can get and top up Post Office Travel Money Card.
