The speedway community will come together in Workington later this month to celebrate the life of eight-year-old Jay Cartmell.

The meeting, on Saturday, September 20 at the Northside GT Tyres Arena will celebrate the memory of Jay, who died during an incident in Warcop last October.

Organised as a tribute to Jay, of Frizington, a speedway fan, the day will feature a four-team tournament-style meeting, bringing riders, fans, family, and friends together.

Tapes are set to rise at 3pm, with an exciting afternoon of action and remembrance planned.

The Cartmell family and Workington Speedway would like to send their gratitude to the many sponsors and supporters who have already contributed to making the meeting possible.

Fans wishing to show their support with a donation can do so via gofund.me/7f4c14d4.

Further details, including the full rider line-up and admission information, will be announced soon.
