
The draw for the first round of the Cumbria Cup has been made by the county competitions committee.
Only eight teams are involved so the first round is effectively the quarter final.
Semi-final and final dates will be announced later.
Holders Penrith have a home tie against Aspatria while beaten finalists last season, Kendal will also be at home to Kirkby Lonsdale.
Keswick will entertain Carlisle and Upper Eden host Wigton.
The date for the first round is November 1 but if both clubs agree, this may be moved to November 15. The default position is November 1.
The committee has stressed that any club that defaults on Cumbria Cup fixtures will face sanctions.
Cup squads will comprise of up to five replacements throughout the competition.
Home teams will be expected to submit the score and liaise with the appointed match official.
Cumbria Competitions sub-committee is made up of John Rogers (Creighton), John Crichton (Keswick), Matthew Liddle (Creighton) and Trevor Richardson (Wigton).
They are also appealing for anyone who would like to join this group, particularly from the east, south and west of the county, to get in touch.
Meanwhile Cumbria Rugby Union are planning for the Bill Beaumont and Gill Burns County Championships in 2026.
A spokesman said: “We are looking for expressions of interest for coaching, team management, physio support and marketing roles for our senior representative men and women squads to help develop and build upon our existing setup of outstanding volunteers on and off the pitch.
“We want to be as inclusive as possible. These are volunteer roles and candidates will receive no remuneration associated with their duties, other than payment of authorised costs and expenses.”
