Barrow slipped to a fifth defeat in seven matches when they took on a confident Swindon side at Holker Street.
It finished 3-1 and lifted the Robins into the automatic promotion places in League Two.
It was even more comfortable than it sounds as Barrow did not reduce the arrears until the 8th minute.
Compared to Barrow’s worrying start to the season this was Swindon’s fifth win in their last six league games and the contrast was evident for much of the game.
In the second minute Finley Munroe broke away down the left and Aaron Drinan put away his cross from just inside the six-yard box.
Former Barrow favourite Josh Gordon, who has returned on loan from Walsall, had a chance to level but he headed wide when he got on the end of a Tyler Walker cross.
The Robins doubled their lead after 36 minutes when Paul Glatzel finished from ten yards with a low angled drive after an assist from Darren Oldaker.
Although Barrow looked better after half-time it was Swindon who scored again on 77 minutes through a header by Princewill Ehibhatiomhan from a cross by Drinan.
Lewis Shipley reduced the deficit three minutes later with a deflected shot but it was much too little too late for the Bluebirds.
