driver has died following a collision on the A66 in West Cumbria.
The three-vehicle collision happened between Bridgefoot and Broughton Cross today, September 9, and was reported at around 10am.
It involved Volkswagen Golf, a Scania HGV and a Volkswagen Caddy panel van.
The driver and sole occupant of the Golf was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Caddy was taken to West Cumberland Hospital for further assessment; his injuries are described as minor
The driver of the HGV was uninjured.
The road remains closed while police officers carry out their investigations.
Road closures are in place at Clifton roundabout and Brigham crossroads.
