The M6 is closed northbound between Kendal and Shap following a HGV fire earlier today.
The lorry has overturned and emergency services are at the scene today, Thursday September 11.
Two lanes of the southbound carriageway are also closed past the scene.
Drivers are warned to expect delays.
People are urged by police to avoid the area if possible.
