The third team for the Jay Cartmell Memorial on September 20 has been announced.
Workington Speedway and the Cartmell family are putting together the line-ups for the tournament at the GT Tyres Arena, Northside (3pm).
It is a tribute to Jay, who died during an incident in Warcop last October.
Jay, of Frizington, was a speedway fan, and the event will feature a four-team tournament-style meeting, bringing riders, fans, family, and friends together.
Team names reflect Jay’s love of the game Fortnite and this latest addition to the tournament will ride as Ragnaroks’ Racers.
Riding at 1 will be Comets skipper Troy Batchelor, who has led the Workington side all season. He is sponsored by Team TK.
2. Scunthorpe’s Zaine Kennedy has shown a liking to the GT Tyres Arena this year with some impressive rides. (Sponsored by Lakes Electrical)
3. Exciting, young British prospect Will Cairns joins the Racers after making his eagerly-awaited Championship debut with Poole this season. (Sponsored by J A Consultants)
4. Ben Trigger was left without a Championship club after his release from Plymouth mid-season, and will be looking for a good performance to put himself in the shop window for 2026. (Sponsored by Ashley Rudd Construction)
Reserve is local rider Laylen Richardson, who has ridden the GT Tyres Arena many times. He now has the chance to impress in the reserve races against some tough opponents. (Sponsored by Les & Michelle Cartmell)
They will be taking on the Blaze Bandits and the Midas Meteors.
The Comets and the Cartmell family have thanked all the sponsors whose support has made this special meeting possible.
There is just one more team to announce.
