There’s a tasty West Cumbrian derby in prospect next month in the West Lancashire League’s Richardson Cup.
Cleator Moor Celtic have been drawn at home to local rivals Whitehaven in a second round tie.
It was only last month when Whitehaven beat their local rivals 5-1 in a fiery contest at the County Ground.
Whitehaven kept their discipline well as Celtic had a player sent off in each half, and also during the game had a third sin-binned.
Celtic manager Gareth Agnew was an absentee that night and will welcome the opportunity to put the record straight.
In the same competition Millom have been drawn away to Appleby Bridge, who currently sit mid-table in Division Two.
Milnthorpe Corinthians, stuck at the bottom of the Premier Division with only one point, have a tough draw at second-in-the-table Haslingden St. Mary’s.
In the Challenge Cup first round ties include Askam v Bamber Bridge Res; Caton Utd v Walney Island; Chipping v Dalton Utd and Crooklands Casuals v Thornton Cleveleys Res.
Ties in both competitions are to be played on October 4.
