Workington have added to their squad through two youngsters from Carlisle United being loaned to the Reds.
One has already established himself at Borough Park and the other is the son of a Reds legend.
Hayden Atkinson wasn’t able to complete an impressive month’s loan because of an injury picked up in training at Carlisle.
He will now be with the Reds until Christmas, although he might not be ready to resume at Hebburn tonight.
The second player is Dan Hopper, 18, son of the late Tony Hopper who became a hugely popular player for Reds in over 200 appearances for the club.
Young Hopper played under Reds boss Darren Edmondson at Penrith last season, his first loan spell from Carlisle.
He has since been given his first professional contract and last month went on loan to Darlington in National North but only made two appearances from the bench.
Workington have also been linked with a former player Greg McCarragher who has just been released by Gretna.
McCarragher declined terms offered by previous Reds manager Mark Fell last season and signed for the Scottish Lowland League club.
He had a very good 2045/25 season for Gretna, being shortlisted for the League’s Team of the Year but has found travelling arduous from his Lancaster base.
For tonight’s game at Hebburn, which is 16th v 19th the Reds will still be without Kai Nugent and Cieran Casson.
