Rain didn’t dampen the enthusiasm for 2025’s Egremont Crab Fair as hundreds of people grabbed an umbrella for all the fun on Main Street.
Live music, the greasy pole, horse parade and the apple cart – the tradition of people throwing crab apples at the crowd – entertained and delighted people.
Organisers pulled out all the stops to make sure this year’s event was a success – and battled against a yellow weather warning for rain – to pull it off, thanks to the people of Egremont and beyond who pulled out all the stops to support them.
The sun even popped out briefly.
Egremont Crab Fair Queen this year was Nova Proctor, of Egremont.
Cumbria Crack was on the Main Street for the fair and photographer Mark Regan captured all the fun of the fair.
Here are his photos from the historic event:
The fair also holds several events in the field and Crab Fest happened last night there too.
Here are our photos from Dancing in the Street, which kicked off the crab fair on Friday night.
There are new World Gurning champions too this year – see the report and the photos here.
