Work on a new 89-home development in Kendal is set to start this autumn.
Westmorland & Furness Council has approved the proposal from Genesis Homes to create Nancy Meadows in the town.
The estate follows the completion of the town’s Meadow Rigg, which Penrith-headquartered Genesis acquired from Russell Armer Homes in 2021.
On the outskirts of Kendal, Nancy Meadows will feature a three-, four- and five-bedroom homes.
It will be built on former agricultural land between Burneside Road to the east and the Oxenholme to Windermere railway line to the west.
Genesis Homes is also launching a new community engagement programme at Nancy Meadows.
It will see the housebuilder supporting schools and colleges with educational programmes, hosting community events that help residents connect, and partnering with local groups and initiatives to give back.
Simon Whalley, sales director at Genesis Homes, said: “We are thrilled to be launching our very first Genesis Homes development in Kendal.
“Nancy Meadows will showcase everything we stand for: high quality design, future-ready features, and homes that respect and reflect the local landscape. Just as importantly, we’re focused on creating a genuine sense of community, ensuring this new neighbourhood is a place people are proud to call home.”
Full launch details will be announced soon.
