
Overnight road closures for up to five weeks are due to begin on the Kendal bypass from Monday.
Westmorland & Furness Council said its highways service will start work on the A591 from Monday, September 29.
Night-time road closures will be in place Monday to Friday from 7pm to 6am for up to five weeks.
Work carried out will include carriageway patching, vehicle restraint barrier repairs, tree work and extensive road markings and stud work.
Work will be completed in stages, on both sides of the road from Brettargh Holt to Plumgarths interchange.
Diversions will be in place and access to businesses always maintained, the council said.
