
Stevie Scholey might have been in his testimonial season but his value to Workington Town has not diminished.
He went home with plenty of silverware and congratulatory handshakes from Town’s annual presentation evening at the Fibrus Community Stadium.
He won the prestigious Player of the Year award outright, and shared in two others.
Town’s player of the year is selected by coach Jonty Gorley and this went to Scholey for the third time in eight years.
He shared the Blue Knights Player of the Year award with Levi Atiga and for the Brian Ritson award for the most influential Townie in 2025 he shared with his coach Jonty Gorley.

At the other end of the experience spectrum Dominic Wear was also among the awards.
Signed from Kells last year Wear capped a fine debut season with the voted for Player of the Year award (taking 45% of the vote); most improved player of the year selected by Jonty Gorley and Newcomer of the Year award.
Players’ Player of the Year is always regarded as a coveted award, chosen by team-mates and this season it went to Levi Artiga.

Zarrin Galea was an absentee on the night, representing Malta in a sevens tournament being held in Spain.

He was Town’s top try scorer with 10 touchdowns and was the Derwent Park Supporters Club Player of the Year.
The other player to take away more than one award was Jake Carter who won the George Petre Memorial Trophy as Workington Town Supporters Club Player of the Year and was also Town’s top points scorer (167) with seven tries, 69 goals and a field goal.

Travellers Rest Supporters Club Committee Player of the year was Spencer Fulton.
