A leading Cumbrian housing developer has revealed plans for 98 new homes in Carlisle.

Genesis Homes, headquartered in Penrith, has submitted a planning application for the estate on land off Crindledyke Lane in Kingstown.

The firm said 30% of the development, featuring two- to five-bedroom homes would be designated as affordable.

Solar panels and EV chargers are as standard for the proposed houses and bungalows in the development, called Rockcliffe View.

It also includes over 1.2 hectares of open space incorporated into the scheme and a northern linear park would serve as the heart of the development.

John Blue, land director at Genesis Homes, said: “We are delighted to be bringing forward plans for Rockcliffe View, a carefully considered development that will provide much-needed new homes for Carlisle.

“At Genesis Homes, our aim is not only to build houses but to create thriving communities within our developments, while ensuring they connect with and contribute positively to the communities around them.”

If approved, work would start on the development at the end of next year, with the first homes due for release in spring 2027.
