Work to upgrade Castle Way’s pavement in Carlisle is due to begin on Monday, October 6.
It will mean one lane of the A595 will be closed and Cumberland Council said the work was expected to last around 15 days, subject to weather and site conditions.
The closure will extend for around 145 metres and will be undertaken in two separate phases.
The closure will apply to the footpath and the left-hand lane only, with a signed pedestrian diversion route provided.
Working hours will be Monday to Friday, between 9am and 3pm, with lane closures lifted around peak travel times wherever possible.
Access to Carlisle Castle and for emergency services will be maintained throughout the duration of the work.
