Lake District mountain rescue teams were called out after a walker fell off a path, sustaining serious injuries.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said it was called at around 1.30pm on September 29 by colleagues of Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team, who were already responding to a callout.
A man had fallen between two and three metres off an exposed and steep section of the Buttermere lakeshore path.
He had significant and painful injuries, the team said.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said: “Team medics provided strong analgesia, and after an awkward packaging operation onto the stretcher, the man was hauled back up to the path and carried to an awaiting ambulance.”
