Youngsters involved in anti-social behaviour and thefts in Kirkby Lonsdale are urged to own up as police vow to track them down.
South Lakes Police said in the past few days officers had received several reports of anti-social behaviour and theft in the area of Fairbank, Vicarage Lane and St Mary’s Church.
In a social media post, officers said: “Unfortunately for the young perpetrators, its 2025 and CCTV covers almost every aspect of the town.
“We’re working with partners to identify those responsible and they can expect a visit in the coming weeks.
“If you know you’re going to get a knock from us, bearing in mind Kirkby, like many of our towns is a close knit community, you may want to let mum/dad/caregiver know now, so its not as much of a shock.
“Alternatively if you don’t want the anxiety of not knowing when we may visit – you can call 101, quote log number 300 of October 2 and provide your details for the attention of community beat officer PC 2666 Roberts.
“In this case there is nothing that we can’t put right. Most people can accept that children sometimes make poor decisions and if they are prepared to own their mistakes, then rest assured we’re prepared to work with them to fix this situation.”
