
A young Whitehaven girl is prepared to lose her hair to help youngsters with health issues.
Anna Spires, 10, who goes to Jericho School is going to have her locks trimmed at a school assembly later this month.
She has decided to donate her hair to create wigs for children who have lost theirs through cancer treatment and other conditions.
She will have her hair trimmed in school with 10-12 inches donated to The Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides free wigs to children and young people, helping them to feel more like themselves again.
Along with that, she’s raising money The Little Princess Trust
She’s raised £635 already which surpasses her original target of £500.
Anna said: “My hair will always keep growing and while it does it can be used for a better cause.”
Anna’s dad Jason was a prominent rugby union player when younger and also a successful cricketer with Whitehaven.
His daughter is showing sporting prowess too as she is a rising star at Whitehaven Cricket Club, and talented at football, rugby and Taekwondo.
