Moss Bay B made it back-to-back wins in the JJ’s Workington Pool League and are now tied at the top of the C league.

A dominant singles performance saw them race into a 6-0 lead over Union Jack Club A.

Finally it was Barry Devlin and Calum Killick that got the winning frames in a 10-3 victory.

Union Jack Club B and Wash House Miners joined Moss Bay B at the top as they won their games 8-5 and 9-4 respectively.

Callum Brown was on form as he secured JJ’s E their first win of the season as they defeated the Roundabout 9-4.

In the B League Steven Cook helped get Grapes A’s season off to a winning start as they despatched Red House B 10-3.

Newly promoted Cons Club A’s Dave Austin helped his team get off to a winning start as they defeated Station Rd B 8-5.

Other B league results saw Seaton Royal Oak beat the Packhorse 7-6 and Red House A won 9-4 against the Bees Knees.

The A league saw final frame deciders as JJ’s B and Cons Club B exchanged leads that saw the game tied at 6-6.

It was Hudson Irving who held his nerve to secure a 7-6 victory for the Cons.

The Waverly led 6-3 but a spirited fightback saw Station Rd C force a final frame shoot out.

Up stepped Luke Elliot to pot the 8 ball and give Waverly the win.

Station Rd A went top thanks to a 10-3 victory over JJ’s C. Harrington Legion also won by the same score line against Moss Bay A.

Finally Packhorse’s Dave Adam was on form as they defeated JJ’s A 9-4.

Further afield the Workington Interleague team went to Great Yarmouth for the national team finals.

A strong showing in the group stages saw them defeat Bicester 10- 8 and Cambridge 10-5.

As the competition progressed to the last 64 the run of the ball didn’t help the team as they were defeated 10-5 by Mercia.

Throughout the weekend Tom Wren Jr, Dean Adams and Shaun Ayre gave a great account of themselves leading the way with the most single frame wins.
