It’s a figure topped by only one club, Southend United, whose average crowd has been 8,271.
Completing the top four are York City 6,089 and Scunthorpe 4,636 – all of them former Football League clubs and all figuring in the top eight in the National League table.
Leaders Rochdale are eighth in the attendance table on 2,616.
Morecambe, who dropped out of the Football League with Carlisle and there were grave doubts about them continuing have had a good response from fans with an average home crowd of 2,890 putting them sixth in the attendance table.
The poorest supported club, and the only one whose average is below 1,000 is Gateshead with 838.
