Kendal put in a good shift at unbeaten Alnwick before going under 27-19.
They deserved to go home with something to show for their efforts.
Alnwick are now one of three teams who have won all of their games so far.
Their side included Alnwick Michael Van Vuuran, their head coach since 2024, who had played previously at the top of the English game with the likes of Northampton, Bath, Wasps and Newcastle.
Meanwhile Kendal’s Evan Moir had played at Alnwick until last season.
The visitors started slowly and allowed Alnwick to get up a head of steam with a converted try on three minutes from a catch and drive.
Kendal responded quickly and after strong work by the pack Ollie Rose slipped through a gap to touchdown with Moir adding the extras.
Kendal were nearly in again through Patrick Wolstenholme but a forward pass brought play back and the same thing happened to Rose.
But on 25 minutes Alnwick scrum-half James Blackett was given ten minutes in the bin after a deliberate knock on.
The penalty was put into touch and from there the forwards drove over and Andy Rogers was credited with the try.
Moir hit the post with his conversion attempt.
Alnwick, however, were able to lead 14-12 at half-time after scoring a converted try from a quickly taken tap penalty.
Three minutes into the second half Kendal were back in front.
Some slick handling ended with Rose sending away Aaron Stephens and after a determined run down the touchline he made the corner. Moir landed a fine touchline conversion.
Unfortunately, that was Kendal’s final contribution to the scoreboard.
Alnwick were quickly level with an unconverted try; went in front with a second unconverted try from a well-worked line-out drive and finally gave themselves a bit more insurance with a converted penalty.
It was a third defeat in four games but all have been against the three unbeaten sides in Regional 1 North East.
