Youths making hoax calls to police has sparked a dispersal order in Workington.
Allerdale Police has issued the dispersal notice today, Sunday October 12, following a number of youths making hoax calls to police at a telephone kiosk on Murray Road and reports of an assault by youths in the town this afternoon.
The order will remain in place until 4.17pm on Monday October 13 in the town centre.
Police are asking that parents check where their children are and urge them to avoid the area this evening.
Two young people have already been issued with a dispersal notice and taken home.
Officers will continue to patrol the town centre throughout the evening.
The dispersal order gives police powers to disperse individuals involved in Anti Social Behaviour from the town centre.
