Northside tightened their grip on the West Cumberland Sunday League with a big victory at the weekend.

They travelled to The Sun and went home with a 10-1 win to savour.

Tommy Whitehead and Max Litt each scored hat-tricks and were joined on the sheet by Logan Bosward (2), Lewis Whitehead and Tyler Harrell.

Moresby Rangers are their nearest challengers at the moment and they also hit double figures at bottom of the table Thornhill.

It was 10-2 as Sam Stones (2), James Bell (2), Jamie Martin (2), Luke Williams, Rhys Singleton, Taylor Hambling and Alfie Schofield notched the goals.

Harrison Rodgers and Josh Crowe scored for Thornhill.

Third in the table Deer Orchard, the reigning champions, were 4-0 winners at Lowca Pirates with goals from Oscar Pickering, Luke Graham, Ewan Harrison and an opponent.

Division One leaders Senhouse Street were not in action but nearest rivals Maryport Amateurs suffered a blow when they could only draw 3-3 with lowly Zebras who had lost six of their previous eight games.

Inevitably Steven Stoddart was on target for Maryport with a couple and Tom Powell also netted.

The Zebras would be pleased with a point from their first draw of the season which came via goals from Malachi Norford, Harvey Shimmings and Alistair Shaw-Hughes.

Sun Inn are third and still very much in contention after an exciting 4-3 win against Mirehouse.

Shay Johnston (2) and Louie Elliott (2) were on the mark for Sun Inn with Lachlan Leeson (2) and Kyle Bayliff notching for the Whitehaven side.

Declan Moore was a hat-trick hero for Workington Falcons in their 4-2 win against the Royal Oak.

Dan Graham also netted while the Oak goals were both scored by Carl Lofthouse.

In the other game King’s Arms were 4-0 winners at Swan.

The scorers were Sam Wordsworth (2), Kieran Fraser and Luke Elliot.
