A 47-year-old man has been jailed for a string of Lake District burglaries and thefts.
Bradley Higham, was sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court yesterday, Monday October 20.
He is currently serving an eight-year sentence and was given an additional two years in prison for seven offences including burglary and fraud offences as well as theft of a motor vehicle.
The offences took place between June 11and June 28 2024 at businesses and properties in the Windermere and Ambleside area.
Higham took items including a handbag and car keys and also attempted to make cheques payable to himself during one incident as part of the crime spree.
The offences were investigated by Westmorland and Furness’s Community and Serious Organised Crime unit as part of Operation Themis, Cumbria Constabulary’s response to and focus on burglaries.
A spokesman from the unit said: “Higham’s actions last year greatly impacted residents and businesses in the Lakes.
“This investigation has resulted in Higham receiving more time behind bars for these offences and I hope this provides the community with some reassurance that we have identified the offender and brought him to justice.”
