Golf days held by Story Homes have raised over £20,000 for two air ambulance charities.
The three events across Cumbria, the North West and North East brought together subcontractors, partners, and employees in a Texas Scramble competition format.
They raised £20,658 for Story’s charity partners, the Great North Air Ambulance Service and the North West Air Ambulance Charity.
Prizes were awarded to the winning teams, as well as for the nearest to the pin and longest drive competitions.
Hayley Blair, sales & group marketing director at Story Homes, said: “Our annual golf days are a brilliant way to bring together our network of subcontractors, partners, and colleagues to raise money for causes that make a real difference across our regions.
“We’re delighted to have raised such a significant amount this year, and we’d like to thank everyone who entered teams, sponsored holes, or donated prizes. The generosity shown by our partners and staff was overwhelming.”
Natasha Banks, CSR & philanthropy specialist at the Great North Air Ambulance Service, said: “As a charity, we do not receive government funding and need to raise £9.3m a year to remain operational, so this money will enable our critical care teams to continue helping severely ill or injured patients across the North East, Cumbria and the Isle of Man.”
Chris Andrews, corporate partnership officer at North West Air Ambulance, said: “The three Story Homes golf days were a tremendous success, and the North West Air Ambulance Charity extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone involved. It is only thanks to donations like this that we can continue to help the people of the North West when they need us most.
“Serving eight million people from Carlisle to Crewe, our highly skilled crews operate 365 days a year using three helicopters and four critical care cars. This vital service costs £18 million annually and relies entirely on donations.”
