Work will start on a new pedestrian crossing in Harrington this weekend.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place when work starts on the A597 – Church Road/Main Road — on Sunday, October 26.
Workers will be on site until Friday, November 7.
A 10mph speed restriction will be enforced using convoy working and parking will not be allowed in the area of the work and people are asked to move their vehicles in advance.
A new puffin crossing and tactile paving will be installed, associated road markings will be added, and the junction at The Hollins will be reconfigured to create a tighter turning radius.
The work is being carried out by Cumberland Council.
