A group of youngsters on bikes have turned Carlisle city centre into a playground for crime, say local police.
Carlisle police said the boys, aged between 12 and 16, are attacking the area and committing crimes.
Carlisle police said: “The lads have been pulling bricks from our castle and smashing them on the ground, they have been attending shops and being racially abusive towards staff and last night, the lads have been cycling in the city centre and setting off fireworks throwing them at passers-by.
“This behaviour is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.”
Police are investigating and city centre officers are compiling a list of names, using CCTV and work with schools to identify the culprits.
Carlisle police said: “If your child is out on an evening and using their bike to meet friends do you know where they are?,
“Do you know what they are doing? We appeal to parents to speak with their children and stop their children frequenting the centre of the city in this manner.
“Our city centre is not a playground! Please put lights on your children’s bike!”
