Carlisle MP Julie Minns has launched a Christmas card competition for youngsters.
Sponsored by pladis, which runs Carrs biscuit factory, the competition offers an opportunity for young artists to have their design featured on the Christmas card that will be sent to local businesses and community groups by the MP.
Ms Minns said: “I can’t wait to see the fantastic designs from local children! This competition is a brilliant way to celebrate the festive season, local talent and our incredible local heritage.
“I am grateful to pladis for sponsoring this year’s cards. I encourage all young artists to get involved and let their creativity shine!”
Children are encouraged to create imaginative Christmas card designs featuring something Carrs-related.
Schools in Carlisle and north Cumbria have been contacted directly to ask them to encourage their pupils to take part in lessons or school clubs.
Children who are home educated can also submit their designs directly by email or post to Julie Minns MP House of Commons London, SW1A 0AA or by email to [email protected].
Entries must be from children (aged 16 or under) whose families live in the Carlisle Parliamentary constituency.
Check if you live in the Carlisle constituency by visiting https://members.parliament.uk/FindYourMP
Each entry must include the name and age of the child and contact details for their parent or carer.
Artwork should be submitted as vector files or PDFs (preferred for print quality). JPEGs are also accepted if necessary.
The deadline for entries is 5pm on Tuesday November 12 and pladis factory manager Mark Ebdon will join Julie Minns MP to judge the entries.
