
A 13-year-old was rescued in a Lake District forest after falling from his mountain bike.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team were called out to the youngster at Whinlatter Forest on Tuesday October 28 at 1.11pm.
The boy had fallen whilst flying over a jump on the south red trail in the forest and landed face first in the dirt.
Team members said the location has become known as ‘the usual place’ and has warning signs for bikers using the trail.
Passers by also went to the boys aid until the rescue team arrived.
The youngster was treated and examined by a team medic and then transported to the car park where he was taken to hospital by his parents for a thorough check up.
The incident lasted two hours and two minutes and involved 13 team members.
The Lake District’s Mountain Rescue teams are made up entirely of volunteers.
