Whitehaven have announced the re-signing of vice-captain Connor Holliday.

The former Kells amateur player is the club’s longest serving player who has been granted a testimonial for the 2026 season, starting in February.

Having been the only surviving member of the 2024 squad Holliday led from the front last season, taking on the role of captain in the absence of Jordan Burns during large parts of the campaign.

He made 21 appearances, scoring four tries and landing one goal.

Holliday was in the starting line-up for Cumbria in last weekend’s representative fixture against Nigeria and crossed for a second half try.

The club are delighted to also confirm that Now granted a testimonial for the 2026 campaign it should see Holliday complete 200 appearances with the 30-year-old currently sat on 197 games in Haven colours.  Information on the year’s testimonial events will be released in the coming weeks and months.

Head coach Anthony Murray said: “Connor is everything you could want in a player and a person.

“He’s professional in his approach, sets the standard every day, and is the kind of team-mate who lifts those around him.

“His leadership, honesty, and commitment to the club are second to none — and this testimonial is truly deserved for everything he’s given to Whitehaven over the years.”
