Maryport speedway star Dan Bewley will break new ground next year after signing to ride in Denmark.
The new world No 3 will make his Danish Speedwayligaen debut in 2026 after signing for Region Varde.
The Outrup club, which has already agreed terms with Swedish champion Fredrik Lindgren, brings in Bewley to strengthen a squad which will fancy its chances of mounting a title challenge.
Also racing in Outrup are double SGP2 champion Mateusz Cierniak, former FIM Speedway of Nations winner Gleb Chugunov, SGP3 champion Villads Pedersen, Danish duo Jonas Jeppesen and Nicolai Heiselberg and SGP3 bronze medallist Beau Bailey of Australia.
Bewley, who has also competed regularly in Sweden and Poland said: I’m really excited to join RVE and to race in the Danish league for the first time next year. “It’s going to be pretty fun to go to some new tracks for me.
“From what I hear, the tracks can be pretty technical, which I think is good for me.
“I’ve raced twice in Outrup in world U21 finals and really enjoyed the track, and the people I have met in the club all seem cool!
“After the U21 meeting in 2019, I actually signed for the following season in Kristian’s shop KLS, but sadly after Covid I didn’t race.”
Bewley, a former British champion, has been a shining light for Belle Vue and Great Britain after riding for Workington Comets in 2018.
