
A woman was bitten by a dog while out on a walk in a Lake District forest.
Police are investigating the incident, which took place last Thursday, November 6, at around 2.20pm in Whinlatter Forest, near Keswick.
It was on a walking trail, a short distance from Revelin Moss carpark.
The victim was bitten on the hand and the injury required surgery.
The owner of the dog was described as a woman in her 40s or 50s, with blonde hair.
She was wearing a long, light-coloured, thin raincoat which went down to the knees.
It is believed she was also wearing an orange dog whistle.
The dog is described as an orange and white dog of an unknown breed, said to be just larger than a beagle.
Police are looking for anyone who can help them identify the dog owner.
